"Eaters Of The Dead" on CD
Oh my gawed is it hard to follow. I'm trying to listen to the first disc and it's dry like a saltine with dates and "history". I think I heard maybe three bits that was in the movie "The 13th Warrior". Something I forget, the meeting of the Vikings and the lifting of the maiden. Everything else is mind numbing. Now I can understand why they had so much trouble adapting it to movie.
I hope it picks up soon.

Still dry. Glad I got the CDs instead of the book. It'll frustrate me to no end making sense and having difficulties reading.

The 13th warrior movie was taken from the eaters of the dead.

Yes I am aware. How the script writer made a movie out of this book is crazy. In the story they just got attacked by Wendol (the bear fur wearing men).

Eaters Of the Dead is a blend of both Beowulf and Ibn the Arab story telling.
Still can't get over Ibn referring to Baghdad as a "city of peace". Maybe in his time it was?

So it seems dude was trying to tie in Wendols as Neanderthals. This was kind a interesting that there could be a band of Neanderthals up until like the year 1000. I always wondered about Ron Perlman (that boy got a cliff for a brow) to me dude has a lot of Cro-Magnon/Neanderthal.
I think I'll get "Timeline" next while I'm on Michael Crichton tip. I don't remember this movie other than people go back to dark ages. How they got there I don't know but they went back to get one of their father. Maybe I'll get the book on cd, too.
