Might try 'Legacy Box' - I hear them advertised on radio when I am depriming cases and getting them ready to go into the tumbler.

    Best Regards - AQH

    I agree with junkballer

I watch a lot of the old days gone by themed YouTube postings on youtube one is recollection road I think its called I have heard them say to check there site to have old photos old film and old tapes converted

    here is a link

Digitize Home Movies, Photos, Slides & More with Legacybox®
Simplest and easiest way to convert your recorded media to digital. Legacybox is the world's largest digitizer of home movies, photos & film.

no experience but a start place I hope it works out for you

I am sure other places do it also but just me I would make sure who ever or what ever company has good feed back once lost they would be gone forever if trusted to the wrong people honest I would be scared the carrier might loose them I would even consider a private carrier over the post office every little of advantage would be good

several years back our oldest sone converted a lot of old vhs tapes and photos to zip drives I dont recall what equipment he had to do it with I know he said it was not cheap and it was time consuming to do

Thrift shops sometimes have old projectors for sale. I have 16 MM movies from the '50's that my Dad made.

I took some 8mm films of my high school soccer games down to a shop in Asheville, and they transferred the movies to DVD.

The movies had deteriorated so much over the years that they weren't worth watching on DVD.

Hopefully you will get better results.

All very good suggestions, D-R thanks for the shipping comment, that never even crossed my mind, losing them would really be a mind boggling bummer 🤬, some things you can't put a value on so I'd be willing to drive & pick them up myself if needed. I'm aware there's sites and places to buy used projectors but I'd rather stay away from that risk and let the pro's do their thing.

@Junkballer try checking out some of these places: just type in your search "convert 8mm film to digital" it will bring up multiple services to do what you want.
