    That would have been an interesting case to be on Jim. Of coarse, knowing the defendant would have exempted you for sure!

    I was called once for jury duty once. The lawyer asked me if I knew the defendant or anybody else. I said yes.

    I said I have met the defendant before, I knew the investigating officer.

    I am a Deputy Sheriff.

    You are excused.

    It is stupid to include law enforcement in your jury pool.

    Enough said.

    I've been called in at least twice when the defendant pled out as the jury was being selected. The DA said it happens quite often. The defendant sees the jury being selected and the realty of the situation hits home.
