Check the internal parts to see if they are Rock-Ola.

The value is anywhere from 6 to 9 thousand....for insurance purposes. They would sell in the 2 thousand dollar range in a realistic auction. The detractions on your rifle are the round bolt and the "Bavarian Police inscription, as collectors prefer the flat bolt and a clean receiver. Your rifle went through The CMP process and original parts may have been replaced, you will have to check each one. Mismatched parts will affect value as I am just giving you a ball park figure, which a real value would require a hands on inspection. If The C-clip sling is a real WWII sling with a markers stamp and year would be worth north of $100, most likely $200. I don't hang out here, was checking for some gun parts and stopped to look at the forum, so I can't answer any follow-up questions, good luck on your nice Rock Ola.

You might want to buy a copy of "US M1 Carbines, Wartime Production" by Craig Riesch. It's an inexpensive book that lets you see the difference in parts.

Do not try to "clean" or "restore" the stock & handguard; you will regret it.
