There's a reason they're called a Dodge. The rest of us have to dodge around 'em!

Bummer Joe, hope it gets better for you soon, Don't feel to bad though, you are not alone, my 95 F250 died on me a couple days ago, I was able to limp it to the house about 5 miles and it is going to my mechanic Tuesday AM...

Love to visit your area @bullshot but too hot and humid to live there.

Yeah,it holds true for this episode @NeoBlackdog

Although I'm sure it looked elegant, like a slow dance,or waltz by ram, there were some that were dodging. They sure were nice enuff about though, all honking and waiving.

Yep,@forgemonkey ,but it was earned this round.

Well shoot@Ruger4me , hope nothing very costly. Just a quick easy fix. Let us know.

Do you need to change fluid in PS for the cold weather?

Living Maine we used to have days where it was 40 below before the wind chill. I used to change both engine oil and transmission fluid for the winter. We had a standard and if fluid was not changed you could not shift the car.

We did not have PS so never had to change fluid.

Yes they recommend all fluids be changed at x intervals. Mainly double fluid levels before the extreme hits.

My take on it is, it's a roll of the dice. In the extremes here, vehicles of all years, make, model are effected. Some common such as batteries die, some different in each case. Roll of the dice.

When they get it pulled apart have 'em look for water from condensation in the system. I don't remember ever hearing of power steering fluid freezing even down to the temps you were seeing.

Sounds like it “froze up or seized” after all the fluid leaked outa the rack and pinion.

Picked it up earlier this eve.

Sure is huge difference in new system

So smooth, responsive, no counter resistance, or jerking at all

Low fluid, cold temps, old with previous history of leak,,,pretty much a pick one or all. " I don't know, it just blewed up man"

    Glad to have it back.

You can keep your weather to yourself. And by my calculations, the earth agrees. Our weather comes from the west.

Yeah, those leaks usually don’t get better over time
