Anyone use a 3D printed magazine. They are being sold. Input please.
Have been looking for a Howa 1500 mini action 7.62x39 magazine for many months with no luck. I have just come across a fleabay seller in Canada makeing / selling 3D printed ones. Can not find any info on line if any of these printed mags last or even work long term. Without being able to find an an OEM magazine, I have a unusable rifle. Funny thing is Howa still is selling this rifle in a couple variations with no spare mag support. Thanks and have a great new year.

I think that anyone making custom 3D items needs you to submit a CAD file, which is sort of a recipe in computer language that tells the printer the exact size & shape of the item you want. Without a sample mag, there's no way you can provide specifications or type of plastic/metal that would work.
Importing any type of mag would require approval from ATF. And, exporting computer software probably requires approval of the State Department.
I once needed sights for an electroless nickel Colt Government model, & it took me 10 years. I went to gun shows, called or texted dozens of dealers, but I eventually found the parts I needed. I suggest that you do the same.

i bought a 3d printed trigger guard for a single shot that cant be bought seems to work ok probaly better plastic than the original give it a shot lifes a gamble anyway

I'd be concerned about the type of polymer used. Magazine feed lips are fairly delicate and the wrong mix might not work or last well.

If it is coming from out of the country an is stopped for inspection there could be major problems.

Additive manufacturing technology has made significant advances in recent years and is capable of producing high end product. Worth a try if you can't find reviews to your satisfaction.

MDT Defense has their mag in stock for your rifle, $119.00 each ,
expensive but a good mag. and worth it if no OEM's are available.
Legacy sports has them listed but out of stock,
a call to them would give you the lowdown of expected availability.
