I like a story with a happy ending.

Which powder? I get good groups with 130 Nosler Ballistic Tips but the performance on deer is not to my liking. Speer Grand Slams expand better on deer, in my experience.

Wow, that's a great improvement! I have always found it interesting how no two rifles are the same. Like you did, just keep tweaking bullets, powder types and charge weights, primers, bullet seating depths, etc. and it dials in. You took a pig and made it into a silk purse.

Actually this was with a box of Nosler Ballistic tips straight from Nosler. I was very surprised and happy.

    Very nice, Wolfpack!

What powder and charge were you using?

My 270's favorite round is factory Remington Core Lokt 130's.

Good to see you now know that it is capable of good groups with that box of ammo.

I've seen fineky for accuracy hunting rifles, find a box of ammo that shoots good groups and buy another box of same ammo and back to square one.

That is one reason why I started reloading, I can make my own ammo using the same accuracy recipe.

What is disgusting now days is I know what type and brand of powder I need for my hunting rifles but for last 3 years some of the powders that I need are not being available, therefore I have to make every shot count and not as much time at the shooting bench working up loads for new to me rifles.

I do reload and was going to try to work up something for this rifle but decided to try a box of these Nosler first since this is an older Remington 725 that I purchased for my collection of the model 725 and it will be mostly stay in the cabinet. I have other rifles that I use much more often but I will may take this one out to use sometime. So I really didn't want to get into a lot of load work up on this rifle.
