Ruger Old Army Black Powder Rant
I got rid of my 1858 old army black powder pistol and replaced it with a Ruger Old Army with adjustable target sights. The 'ram' mechanism buggered up on the second chamber. I called Ruger to find out how to get it to them for repairs. I was told they did not have any parts and did not do repairs on the Ruger Old Army. I had a bad experience with Ruger years ago with an early Bearcat - Single Six Convertible - & - Vaquero. I was a dummy for sending them to an "Authorized Service Center' to have the 'transfer bar' installed as a 'safety measure'. They buggered all three of them up royally. I contacted William (Bill) Ruger himself and was told I did not have to send them in and probably was an idiot for doing so. I countered with if he was buried after he died and not cremated - and I ever found out where he was buried - and if I was ever within 100 miles of the site - I would make a side trip and what I would leave on his grave would not be mistaken for flowers.
So now I remember why I do not have any Ruger Red Label shotguns among the bunch of shotguns I have. I will not live to be 130 years old and make another Ruger mistake after more than 50 years again.
So if you have a Ruger Old Army black powder pistol and anything goes awry - no parts - no Ruger repair.

Excellent rant. 5 out of 5 stars.

At least it came with the entire owners manual stamped on the barrel.

I've owned pretty much every type firearm Ruger has come out with and have had exactly "zero" problems with them, I consider them some of the finest American products made. I'm sure quite a few errors have made during the manufacturing process but to tell a man over the phone your going to leave a dump on his grave to me seems pretty low, something that important you need to tell him to his face.

Good rant
and sad that's the response you received
But i will call out the line about leaving something on the the grave I think I heard that line in the old John Wayne shootist movie lol
I have only sent one gunback to the factory it was a Springfield xds that had a recall
They did a fast turn around and sent me a couple magazines for it
For my trouble

They don't have parts or service for older mini14 either

The Old Army hasn't been made since, what, 2008? I don't doubt that they have no parts left. A few years ago I emailed RCBS about a new handle for a press I had picked up. Turns out the press hadn't been made since the '70s.
