"Laser". So are you gonna tag everything? You know to see if you can or cannot tag?

How deep and I reckon what ever that can fit under the machine can be tagged?

Several years back my wife had the idea to do homemade gifts for her coworkers and our friends.

Which really meant that I was to glue up and manufacture about 20 charcuterie boards. Once I had the boards and little

custom knives made for each one, we had to figure out a way to make each board unique for the receiver of the gift.

    An initial or design whatever...

I never had experience with laser and didn't know anyone with one, so I ordered a cheapo machine off the internet and got a trial version of Lightburn software.

Made some practice runs and cranked out a bunch of fancy designs. There is a learning curve on speed and power settings to achieve the desired burn, but it was a pretty cool process. Never used it again.

Might need to get it off the shelf someday and try something else.

You just need to put the desktop waterjet on the wish list next. With 3d printing, lasers, etc. the hobbyist can make just about anything now.

My wife has a label maker. Everything that doesn't run away fast enough has a label on it. The cat narrowly escaped last week.

If she had one of those lasers I'm afraid she'd burn the house down labeling everything!

Nice to see you posting again, @Warbirds !

Looks like you got a fiber laser, what make?

We have both a fiber and co2 here at the store, we do all kinds of gun projects.
