SW model 41 changes?
Through the years I foolishly let go of 2 model 41s (DOM 1959 and 1978). I recently ran across a like new 41 (DOM 2005) for a fair price. I missed having one so I purchased it. The older models had real wood grips. This one has what I believe to be cheaper laminated grips . Can anyone tell me if my 2005 pistol has been cheapened mechanically or in any other way compared to the older model?
THANK YOU

The innards are probably full of MIM (metal injection molding) parts. Older firearms would contain parts made by forging, or machining from a billet.

At my local they had 3 41s a few weeks back. One comped, one long barrel and one regular. I was looking hard at the comped 41 but I refrained. Since eyes ain't what they were it would just depress me. I think they were all $1400?
Now a guy I know was babbling about his being the older (didn't pay attention to how "old") had dove tailed sights? Now his cousin bought one from the local about 5 years back and I think that was $1400? That was newer than the "old" one because it lacked the dove tail for the sights? Gawd only knows what they did/doing after clinton lock era to save a buck.
