His joke reminded me of this one.
A funeral service is held for a woman who just passed away.
As the pallbearers carry the casket out, they accidentally bump into a wall.
They hear a faint moan.
They open the casket and find that the woman is actually alive.
She lives for 10 more years and then dies.
They have another funeral for her. At the end of the service, the pallbearers carry out the casket.
As they are walking, the husband cries out, "Watch out for the wall!

If the person has money those nursing homes will keep you alive way too long. A lady had early dementia and they fed her proton pumps and kept her drugged up. She laid like a vegetable for six years and when the $600,000 she had was gone she was let die. At almost $8000 a month plus everything else they could charge money does not last long.

I was down in Florida last week and saw a Silver Alert flash across the screen on the highway. I thought to myself, maybe Grandpa doesn't want to be trapped in that Nursing Home.
