You could ask store if they maybe have surveillance camera video. I know are Walmart store has surveillance cameras watching the parking lot.

    I hate a thief.

Yeah, we discussed that but on the slim chance the creep could be identified, nothing would come of it.

Best we can do is get the word out.

Peope will break in if they see loose visible increase chances

Many years ago working in the Dayton Oh area so many coworkes had their cars, houses and garages broken into, and that was almost 40 yrs ago

One carpenter budy was in a unemployment office with a guard in the parking lot even

Some one broke the window in his truck took his tools

    He ask the guard WTH

The guard told him I am guarding the parking lot not the cars

Even the police ask you have insurance and best we can offer start going to the pawn shops, looking

So he did even found some tools with his name and ss number back when that was the thing to do

the cops told him too much trouble and time for us just buy them back and let it go

Police work is no longer like it used to be when an offender we caught was assured of spending some time in a lockup, paying a fine, doing major community service, etc. Now, they are back out on the street before the cop finishes his report.

I used to do quite a bit of traveling for work. I usually stopped at the same gas station on my way home to fill up for next day's travel. I'd seen this old beater Dodge Durango at the place a few times but hey, it's a public place and they have the gambling(?) machines and lotto so it attracts the lower end sort of folks.

One day while gassing up and washing windows I noticed the beater sitting directly behind my pickup. Then I noticed this person sort of creeping along the passenger side of my vehicle. I kept my backpack/computer bag on the passenger seat and apparently that had attracted the attention of the creeper. About the time he reached out for the door handle, I quick stepped around the front bumper and told him what a bad plan that was. He screeched out of the gas station and I tried to get a plate but found none. In a couple more steps, he'd have found that my door was locked so he couldn't reach the bag anyway.

As I was leaving, I noticed this vehicle cruising the rows in the Walmart parking lot and gradually eased up behind it again trying to get a plate or something. Didn't take long for them to get the message and race off again. TV news a few days later indicated they'd been caught doing just what they tried to do with me.

Probably out on a few dollars bail and back at it next day.🤨

Anytime I fill my truck, I lock doors & make sure my pistol can be out & ready to fire in less than a second. Gas stations are targets for car jackers other vermin.
