Looks like a stare down. Reminds me of a 8 week old beagle I brought home years ago. He immediately proceeded to whip the older dogs, and they always gave him room at feeding time. He was a psychopath all his life. I never had to worry about him being stolen while on the hunt.

Davy was pulling that the first day he came with Lad... I hadto keep him from being beat up... Lad doesn't take guff. My folks are taking a trip sometime this spring and my mom was talking about taking Bobby and the pup... She knew Davy wouldn't let anything happen to me. I don't think it would go very well if a stranger laid one finger on me with Davy or Bobby.

Decades ago I had a Doberman/Border Collie cross as a cowdog. Ol' Buford wasn't afraid of anything and had the brains and brawn to back it up. He went missing and I didn't find him for a couple weeks. The silly bugger had somehow got his head stuck under a swather header going after a squirrel and died.

She's almost a ringer for one on my "meals-on-wheels" route, except Jack is black with a little brown. He's always interested in what I'm bringing, and ready for a little rub.
