Thats a horrible fit and he has to be pretty disappointed.
Is there a way to tell if he even got the correct slide??

It appears to be an Optic Cut Bullnose Slide. I found the website and could not find a model for the G21….
I doubt this slide was made to fit a G21…. Given the price point, I personally would be apprehensive of the quality of the barrel and slide in general…
I would start with the "They" that sold it to you…..I would also contact the company that made it…

I for the heck of it looked on Ebarf and found a model listed for the G21….Nothing saying what generation it fits….
If this is not allowable Joe, please delete it…

Nice detective work. ^^^^
So NOT a Glock slide but after market. I think I would chalk it up to lesson learned. Put Glock back to factory parts (slide), and sell off the new slide for what is, as is.
