    Great actor, I enjoyed his work.

    I just read that they cast him in Animal House because it was regarded as a weird, off-beat movie, and they needed one big star in the film. Nobody thought the film would be a hit.

    They offered Sutherland $20 Grand and 2 percent of the gate. He refused that and told them $50 Grand and they could keep the gate.

    If he had taken the 2 percent he would have made over the years $20 million.

    The movie came out in 1970 but I didn't see it until 1973. During orientation week at college, they played it outside by projecting it on a blank dorm wall. They had a great sound system hooked up and you could hear it all over the campus. Good times and great memories. It had a great cast and may they all RIP. Bob
