In that range, I’d recommend the S&W M&P (probably the Sport II or Sport III series). I also wouldn’t shy away from the PSA “PA-15” line….a lot of value and options there within your price range.

I agree go the auctuon side

JMHO AR15's to me hit a peek several years + ago, but so many company's and lego build your own options now

You could easy find what you want

PSA has some good quality at decent prices if your local dealer will take delivery.

DelTon is a good quality AR at great prices (if you get one on sale at Midsouth) as long as your local dealer doesn't charge too much to transfer(or happens to be a DelTon stocking dealer)..

I carried a DelTon 16" Hbar for several years basically from Thanksgiving until April and the rifle still looks good. Sent many coyotes to their happy hunting ground.

Used or new? Are you going to add "value"? Now me I'd spend a little more. just buy now before the rush that's a coming. biden 4 more years will prompt a gun ban that will make '94 look like heydays of Miami Vice.

Not asking WHERE to get one, question is Which of the least expensive ARs are the better ones.

Gonna be hard to beat the PSA products. I've talked to owners of PSAs at the range and they love them. And here's a review you might be interested in:

CORE Ar's are great and made by veterans in FL.

Don't discount the DPMS/Panther Arms AR's. I've got a couple of them and they run really well and have good accuracy for 16" pencil barreled guns.

I have an Aero Precision that is flawless. You get what you pay for.

    It certainly looks like it.

There's a bunch of 'em over on the auction side, too.

I certainly wouldn't buy a USED AR unless I knew the seller really well. Too many 'DIY builders' who are trying to get rid of their 'failures'.
