Thats not country enough. If you drove to anywhere that sells food and beer from here, it would be a long ride on an atv. 😁

i grew up In town it was just a small town but still a town

all I can say it was convenient to got to parts stores grocery stores fast food will you get the picture

I hatred having the neighbors with in just feet of our house ( even worse when younger we liven in apartments just a couple pieces of dry wall separated us from the neighbors most all were good just poor old misplaced hillbillys like us but weekend drunks fighting with the families I am glad my mom and dad did not drink and did the best they could with what they had for us kids

when I started dating maybe just luck all my girlfriends lived in the country , I fell in love with the country lifestyle

my wife also had been raised in the country just before we married we found and rented a house in the country

and had it ready to move into , no way we were going to live together with out being married . for many reasons starting with our upbringing on right and wrong ,

and her would have shot me DRT . and told me so many times I had no doubt he would have , to many stories on him but I knew he would have RIP Glen a good old boy and FIL

that was 46 years ago we have lived in the country ( not the wide open miles of space I would love to have but still in the country

would never want to go back into town and live ya I miss walking to any food or busness but it was worth the loss to move

and yes way too many reasons why we love it to list if you live in the country or just out of city limits you know the feeling

Three houses within a mile. Out in the middle of nowhere as I don't have neighbor problems Putting up 160 acres of hay, just repaired 11 needy chainsaws and got my garden worked out.

    Out In the Country

    Song by

Three Dog NightWhenever I need to leave it all behind
Or feel the need to get away
    I find a quiet place
    Far from the human race
    Out in the country
Before the breathin' air is gone
Before the sun is just a bright spot in the nighttime
Out where the rivers like to run
I stand alone and take back somethin' worth rememberin'
Whenever I feel them closing in on me
Or need a bit of room to move
    When life becomes too fast
    I find relief at last
    Out in the country

There sure is no place like home!! Out in the country!! 😊

You've kinda gotta use your imagination and squint, but as I was reading this topic 4 swans flew by the window and landed on the pond. Sorry for the bad pic but the only cam handy was my Kindle. The fattest looking one is actually 2 SxS. So yeah, I really like the country!😁

I'm leaving to go open the club for the high school skeet team practice and they will probably be a lot closer when I am not here to take their picture. By the way the skeet team took first place in the regional shoot last Saturday, so all their hard work is paying off. Bob

Buying our land (23 acres) and building our house was the smartest thing I could have done. We love it here.

I grew up in the country….lived in town for almost 40 years and retired to the country !!! They will carry me off this place.

The small town three miles away has a diner. On Friday nights they have fish dinners to die for… The parking lot is full of SUVs….

Moved to the country in 1973. I’m basically institutionalized now. If I were to move back into a town, I would probably bite someone or get arrested.

View from my living room. I have 48 acres. When the leaves are down, I can see 2 houses from my porch, they are across the river, 2 miles away. Can't see any houses in summertime.

I just realized I have not lived inside any city limits except for during college when I couldn't avoid it. Even then I was a 5 minute drive from the country.

If you're close enough to drive the UTV to the diner, you're not out in the country yet.

I used to live in the country but not any more. I didn't move. Other people moved in. Built houses and here they are. Both families are great people but it just sits on my nerves that there's people near me. And of course all the "other people" issues came with them. The nearest has a yapping ankle biter dog that won't quit and when he brought out a 338 lap with a muzzle break on an Easter Sunday and proceeded to blast away, while my family and I were enjoying the day, it affirmed my opinion of having people near me.

Yupper, I know what you mean. We moved here in 1980 and until 2022 couldn't see another house or hear human activities. Neighbor a mile up the road gifted 17 acres to his Daughter who built a house within 1/4 mile of mine. Not happy but nothing I could do. Couple months back I discovered that more of this Daughter's in-laws are planning to build houses along the road also. It's becoming crowded.
