I had to get this off my chest
A couple of years ago I worked at the local bike shop. It was a good break from the computer industry.
We hired a kid in his early-mid 20s. Friendly, smart, could take and give a joke…a good kid. We became friends and after I quit and went back to the computer world, we would occasionally meet up with other bike shop friends and have a beer or two. One night he felt compelled to tell me he was gay. I told him I'd known that for a long time and couldn't care less about such things. Who someone choses to be with is their own business. To each his own.
Just the other day, I ran across a story about Philadelphia trying to set some record for drag queen story time. I figured, "OK, I've got a gay friend, it's pride month coming up, and I'm gonna get his perspective on the matter." So I sent him the article and said "what's up with all these drag queens anyway???"
From him: the drag queen story times are designed to detach the association of sexuality and drag queens and humanize the person. drag queens are victimized by bigots and the ignorant.
I asked: do you not see any harm in having a group of people, well known for their oddities and fetishes, using children as their vehicle for "humanization"?
His response: you see indoctrination, I see a human being trying to be accepted.
As you may have guessed, that ended the conversation.
Nothing in this world is worse than using or abusing children. I don't care if you think your cause is just or good. Manipulating the innocent minds of children as a way to further your agenda makes you my enemy. And if you support such an agenda in any way, you're on my s**t-list forever.
I added one more to that list just the other day. It had to be done. I'm not sorry.

Brier-49 that is a brilliant statement! Seriously. Entertaining a group of old people just sitting around being bored and lonely in a nursing home would turn their "shows" from disgusting to a positive influence.
Not going to happen. Who wants to have sex with a nursing home resident.😕 Them "queens" are some sick puppies.

Summed up nicely, @brier-49. If the goal is indeed 'humanization', there are innumerable ways to achieve that and not one of them is 'be a creepy clown in front of children'.

Brier beat me to it. The ONLY audiences these freaks seek out are impressionable children. They are "flamers" alright, but they only want to attract a certain kind of moth.

What I hate is the lies being told. They say they are protecting children from suicide by letting them gender change and identify as someone they are not. When in reality there are more suicides by those that have gender changed and realize that they made a mistake.
This is mental illness. There is no gene on the chromosome that has ever been found that proves someone was born that way. If this is normal behavior as they say, then way is it that the human animal is the only animal on earth that practices this behavior. This is a taught behavior not a natural behavior.

Walter, I have long said that if they WERE born that way, it's a serious birth defect. But if that's so, how can they imagine they can recruit others to be like them? You can't decide to have a birth defect.
And if they weren't born that way, they have to be mentally ill to have chosen that path. Society does not and must not allow the mentally ill to create others like themselves.

I am okay allowing folks to pretend to be something they are not but I am NOT okay with folks expecting me to pretend along with them.

As I understand it - there is a fairly big difference btw feeling the want/need to reidentify or reassign one's gender and simply being attracted to the same gender. Homosexuality is normal in the sense that in just about every mammalian population studied, some percentage of primarily the male of the species refuses to mate w/females and is attracted to the same gender as they. One is free to characterize or rationalize this phenomenon however they choose - but it is indeed fact. In my little libertarian bubble - these people have the right to live as the choose provided they are not infringing on anyone else's ability to do the same.
No disagreement here. I don't understand the attraction to the same gender at all but to each his/her own, I say. Still, you gotta wonder how that particular mindset/perspective/wiring seems to be increasing even though it can't produce more of the same by natural means. 🤔
Gay isn't the issue, though. The justification and support of the indoctrination of children is. The label of 'bigot' or 'homophobic' or 'ignorant' applied to all that don't jump on their bandwagon is. There's simply no room in the gay liberal mind for anyone who doesn't fawn at their feet and see their tragic plight.

I’m afraid that is the problem with the internet, anyone can say something and some people accept it as fact. Have other male mammals been seen trying to mate with other male mammals, yes. But, they are not attracted to the other sexually out of lust, they are acting out of instinct. What causes this act is the male will smell the pheromone of it’s species that is in heat, and when in proximity of a large gathering of the same species the male/bull of the species acts out of instinct, not lust.
There then lies the difference between man and beast, we were given a conscience to know right from wrong, animals other than human were not.12 -
Some times critters have better values than humans even if they don't have a conscience.
Wrong decisions will take you further than you want to go, cost you more than you were willing to pay, and keep you longer than you want to stay.
