Prayers for our grand-dog
Remi is a 7 yr. old 136 lb short hair, tiger striped unknown breed. He has been to the vet a half dozen times this week already.
Has bad hip and trouble walking will limp on left leg. Over this week end he hurt his leg. Exam, X-rays showed he tore the ACL of left leg. Surgery or no surgery???? Tonight while going potty he let out a cry and went to the ground unable to move. SIL scooped him up and to the vet. He hurt his other leg. Waiting to be seen by vet as there is another emergency being helped first. Good gosh pups. So, prayers for Remi would be appreciated. Thank you.

Dr. Thompson in Whitefish did the ACL surgery on our dog a couple years ago and it was well worth the cost. He's going on 11 and runs around like a pup. Look up Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy.

There's 2 local vets that do the surgery too.
I looked that up and it looks like Bridger does that surgery. We've dealt with them with our other dog and they were top notch folks.

Yep. The other is Dr. Hall in 3 forks. Remi is at Bridger, that's who seen him last night.

Joe I sure hope your dog will be OK. That ACL surgery isn't pretty for a dog. Long rehab. But the end result is very positive.

Prayers sent for Remi Joe. My oldest son's Labrador had that surgery done many years ago and the dog lived a very active long life!

Update,
A week ago today he had surgery on both rear legs to repair both torn ACL. He went home the next day with special harness to allow his people to assist in walking and taking weight off legs by lifting. Somehow while laying, the harness strap tore a stitch in one incision. To the vet they go. Vet put in a couple staples, and was happy to say Remi is doing real good for first week post surgery. His people got their hands full caring for him but have no regrets. Seven weeks of recovery to go.

Did they do the TPLO surgery or an actual repair of the ACL?

TPLO is where they cut the tibia bone and re-orient it.
