Ordered a new pistol yesterday. ** UPDATE **
Broke down and ordered a new Ruger Max-9 with one 10 and a one 12 round magazine and a safety. Should be here by Friday.
I buy quite a few firearms but very few new ones. I decided that I've been a very good boy and needed to treat myself to an "absolutely no reason for it" gift.
For the money, it's hard to beat the Max-9.
Picked up the max-9 this morning, weather is not cooperating however, 93 degrees and pouring down rain. Looks like I'll have to put off the range trip for a bit. I hate going to the range when the temperature and humidity are both in the 90s, hands get sweaty and sweat in the eyes doesn't help much either.

I have never been an admirer of Ruger semiautos, though I greatly admire most of the revolvers. Until I bought the SR1911. Now I have a 5.57 x 28 as well. I reckon you are going to like the new one. Be sure to post a range report.

If I ever have to replace my Ruger LC9s Pro (discontinued), I think the Max 9 Pro (no thumb safety) will be the one to get. It looks to be very similar in size:
