Do I need a 308 Winchester rifle?
I sold one a while back. It wasn't my favorite.
But now I keep thinking "maybe I want a 308 again" and "maybe a 308 would be good for the zombie apocalypse".
And then I wonder: AR-10 or hunting rifle?
I assume one or two of you have an opinion on the matter? Well….let's hear it then…..

Should you own a .308? Yes, owning a rifle in such a popular caliber is a no brainer. And that's one of the motivating factors: ammo availability. I like the idea of a 243 or 270 or even a 6.5 Creedmoor but those rounds are much less popular and the components much more expensive than the 308.

I have a Browning BLR 81 in .308 and a Savage 99 in .308 also.

The one I regret selling the most is a BLR. A friend wanted it really bad and used a guilt trip card.

I have a few in the safe. And I reload .308 also. I'm all set for the zombie apocalypse.

Be different. Get a 308 Norma magnum.
For something completely different he should try the .308 Warbird by Lazzeroni.

You do not need one.
No one does.
No reason to use a poor replacement when the 30-06 is still available.
