Fun, fun on the range...
It's always fun to go shooting but today was particularly satisfying.
I brought out the Browning 12 gauge, the AR-15, the Ruger PCC 9mm, and the Beretta 92FS. It was bug-out gun day!
The shotgun(Browning Auto-5 Light 12)is just fantastic to shoot. 70 years old and with a 28" barrel, its the opposite of tactical. But the full choke and some #1 buck packs the kind of wollop at 25 yards that's gonna make short work of any zombies.
150 9mm rounds total thru the Beretta and the Ruger. The Beretta never fails. I think I could feed it lawn clippings and it would still go bang. The Ruger however, needs an extractor upgrade. I get the occasional stovepipe on ejection and that ain't good when the SHTF.
I also put 30 rounds of 75 grain reloads thru the AR. Note to you reloaders: do not choose the 75 grain Hornady ELD Match bullets for your AR-15. When seated properly, they're too long for the magazine. Go with the Hornady BTHP rounds instead. Otherwise, the AR eats ammo the way I eat fig newtons: completely and as fast as possible.

I ran a couple mags through this Century Arms MKE AP5 pistol yesterday afternoon on my backyard range. Makes ringing gongs easy.

Haven't made it to the range in a couple of months, but it is definitely on the to do list. I also better get in some clays practice so I don't look like a total fool next month at our yearly cancer charity shoot!
I did fire 1 shot yesterday, so I know 1 rifle still works. I was putting some stain/sealer on the porch steps when a woodchuck wandered across the yard. I ran in and grabbed the 77/17 that I leave out of the safe for this very reason and 1Hornady rd. dropped him without so much as a twitch. Even after 20+ years, I find it amazing what that little round will do. Bob
