Dog psychology. I got my first Border Collie 51 years ago. A Border Collie NEVER does anything
without a reason. The problem is that often I can't figure out what their reasoning is for something they are doing.
My four year old sleeps in her crate on my side of the bed. Every morning we do the same routine when I open her crate door. Lola runs to the foot of our bed, puts her front feet up on the bed and waits until I catch up with her. I'll box her years, rub her neck and than bend over and give her a smooch on the white spot on her head. After the smooch she jumps down and flies down the hall heading to the kitchen door. The exact same routine every morning.
This morning after her first smooch she jumps down than instantly jumps back up wanting another smooch. This went on for at least 12 to 15 times. I finally told her it was time to go potty and down the hall she went.
As I said earlier, a Border Collie always has a reason for their actions but this one has me stumped. Twice I could see but doing it until I told her to go potty I just don't get what Lola's thinking was.
Any ideas??

Don't try to figure it out, just enjoy the fact that she loves you.

I'd guess you varied your routine slightly, even not shifting you weight as usual or any slight movement is noticed…

She already has you trained. She is now trying to see if you can learn a new trick.

Oh my God Anti kue you may be right. Border Collies like to screw with your head. Lola just might have wondered how long I would keep kissing her kissy spot until I got tired of doing it.😁

Every night Bobby sits in the middle of the stairs and blocks the stairway until he gets his kiss… Bruce has now started it a little further up from Bobby.

Ever since I had my stroke Franny watches over me. If I sneeze or cough she barks and brings me one of her toys. She takes her job seriously.
