    A great movie star and song writer. A Rhodes Scholar, he played football at Pomona College. A Warrant Officer flying choppers in Germany in 1963. He had a job lined up as an English Professor at West Point, what a cushy life he had lined up.

    He threw it all away to move to Nashville to get into country music. He got a part time job as a janitor at a music studio, and once a week, drove to New Orleans, and spent 3 days ferrying workers to oil derricks in the Gulf. That flight is long and boring, and while flying that chopper he wrote Me and Bobby McGee.

    Rest in Peace, Kris Kristofferson.
