Question for you legal eagles
I'm somewhat involved in an estate resolution. The administrator has been less than forthcoming, which is a huge understatement. I understand that it has been sent to probate court ( after 2 years since the death). My question is when it comes for me to check on the status of the probate court schedule, what terms do I use to identify the case. I've heard the terms of "court case' and "document number" but I don't know what to use in an inquiry. Where is Earl when I need him! Thanks folks.

The court house employees are used to this. Just tell them it's a probate case & give them the #. If you don't have the #, the deceased's name should do. Whether you're qualified to receive information is another story.

Why do I get involved is everything Lady Rae?🤨 This is about a 7-figure estate. My wife, her brother, and her sister of questionable character (I say that to keep Joe from giving me a timeout) is the administrator. This has been going on, as I said, for 2 years. I'll pass this on to my BIL and maybe he can find out the status.

We have personally been through probate 2 times.… I feel for anyone who has to. Especially when pain in the neck family is involved. My grandmother had a trust and that's another humdinger story.

That's right, Earl Boydell would know.
By the way, didn't he have a crush on Taylor Swift? Earl must be happy to know that Taylor is so successful these days.6 -
Earl had a crush on many girls!

They usually refer to them as "docket numbers". Check to see if your state has an online tool to look up cases. In our state you can look up a case by name.
Because Probate is a public process you can see almost all of the documents filed right online.

Dang Jeff. I can't offer any advice that hasn't already been said, but offer best wishes for you. Keep the stress in check.

I have to admit that I miss Earl. Nuttier than a triple nut fruitcake but good for laughs.

He really enlivened the forum. Sad to lose Earl.
He didn't know how to post pics. So he said he would email me some pics, and I would post them on the forum. Earl emailed me 35 pics of his house, where he lived with his brother. I do remember several big Rebel flags hanging from the walls. I told Earl it would take me 5 hours to post 35 pics, I made him pick his favorite 5 pics and I posted them.
