It's a bit of a drive to Flagstaff, but you can see the south rim of the canyon and the painted desert, meteor crater North of Phoenix if I remember, it's been a lot of years…

Best carry a water sprayer to douse your self. Dude I just checked the next 10 day and it'll be in the 100 for the next three days and it'll cool down to mid-90s. I reckon you'll loose weight in your week stay and resemble a jerky. Oh that reminds me do try the Carne Seca.

I lived in Phoenix for five years and my favorite place was to go was the Travertine Bridge in Payson. An amazing geologic formation, incredible beauty and a very good hike. All the way down it is like being in cathedral with a soaring ceiling!!

I'm here. Been in conference. Since yesterday morning. Will be able to start exploring tomorrow afternoon. Been to a local restaurant for lunch yesterday and ate on the rooftop of the Hilton Downtown where I'm staying. Got tickets to the Diamondbacks game tomorrow evening. Headed toward the south rim on Sunday and will explore Sedona along the way.

Outstanding. You're filling your calendar quite nicely. Enjoy, and check in when you can

The dry heat is much better than hot and humid. Lived in Las Vegas for a little while, when it dropped to 100 in the shade it was comfortable.
