l'm researching for a Remington 40 with a 20 inch FACTORY barrel. What year did Remington first offer a FACTORY 20 INCH barrel in their 40X?

  My old hunting pal had a 40XBR-BR in 6x47, with a factory 20" stainless steel barrel. The short barrel, and 6x47 chambering, enabled the shooter to shoot both Light Varmint and Sporter classes with the same rifle.

  IIRC.......this was about 1974.
